Why Accurately Handling History Matters - Calvin and the Servetus Affair

In this episode I present my research on the Servetus affair in the life of John Calvin. This event is used by anti-Calvinists typically as an ad hominem attack against Calvinism more generally. Not only is such an argument logically fallacious, but in this instance it is built on clearly demonstrable revisionist history.

So did John Calvin have Servetus murdered? Let's find out and see why accurately handling history matters.

Why History Matters - Part III, Servetus versus "Jihadi Jean"

In this episode I continue my series responding to Leighton Flowers' article dealing with Calvin and Servetus. I attempt to present a more robust and historiographically responsible and informed presentation concerning what happened in the Servetus affair.

In this article, I present the period between Servetus' arrest and execution.

Part I can be found here, and Part II can be found here.

Why Accurately Handling History Matters - Part II Rising Tensions

This is part 2 in my series responding to Leighton Flowers' abysmally bad article dealing with Servetus and Calvin (you can find it here: "Why Servetus is a Valid Argument Against Calvinism").

You can find Part I of my series here.

In Part II, I now begin a far more accurate presentation of the history leading up to Servetus' arrival in Geneva. Part III will explore his arrest, trial, execution, and the response on the world-stage following fast on its heels.

Why Accurately Handling History Matters - Part 1

Part One of my series responding to Leighton Flowers' Stoeriology101 article "Why Servetus is a Valid Argument Against Calvinism." I will argue that this is one of the worst articles that I have read on the subject and is plagued with bias and utterly lacking in research and often is down right misleading.
